About us.
The Next Step – Joplin began as a volunteer effort driven by a few commuity members who wanted to provide shelter to unhoused people during the winter of 2019/2020. We operated a temporary warming center that allow people who had no where to go, shelter during the coldest nights. Since that time, we have grown to become a full-fledged, volunteer-driven nonprofit, dedicated to helping unhoused people better their lives and gain independence.
